“Magnetic milli-spinner for robotic interventional surgery”

Abstract: We demonstrate magnetic milli-spinner that is capable to 1) swim and navigate in multi-branched and tortuous blood vessel pathways through its spinning-enabled propelling; 2) realize various motion modes in fluids for procedures of brain aneurysms treatment; 3) effectively carry and deliver drugs to a targeted position. By understanding the magnetic spinner performance in complex vascular systems, we envision its potential as a timesaving and life-saving technique in different endovascular disease treatment applications.
